If you can move the wiper arm FREELY by hand then the nut at the pivot point of the wiper blade is loose. What probably happened is that the wiper was taped down, you accidently hit the wiper switch, and since the wiper couldn't move, the motor rotated the shaft making it loosen.
The simple two minute fix is to flip up the little metal cover at the base of the wiper and tighten down the 10MM nut underneath. Oh, and position the wiper where you want it before doing this. Hardly worth going to the dealer for...
