while the wiper was taped down. The wiper tried to move but doing so either loosen the nut or stripped the wiper arm detent. If it is the latter, you may need a new wiper arm. In this case, see if the dealer can provide you one under warranty, not exactly the dealer or Saab's fault but they may do that under goodwill.
To check for loose wiper arm, take the plastic nut cover off the arm, pull the wiper arm up from the glass, if the thing is loose, you can rotate the arm somewhat freely. If you want to be sure, take the nut off, look around the hole in the wiper arm and see if the detents are still there or have been stripped clean. If everything looks OK, then just tighten the nut back (don't over tighten, just snug).
