We have 17" wheels, low profile tires and got a flat and bent rim from a VERY SIZEABLE pothole. The car was scheduled for a regular service the next day so I called the dealer and had the dealer overnight a new wheel ($330) and put on a new tire (Michelin)during the scheduled maintenance. The Dealer did excellent work and service as usual. The price they charged me for the tire was a total scalping. $350!!!! My checkbook is still in shock. One tire, $350??? What a major Rip Off. So I learned a lesson. I have never purchased tires from a dealer (I usually use http://www.Tirerack.com) and I never will. At any rate, Lola, welcome to the world or Low profile tires. They are great except for those occasional large pot holes. Be sure to check the wheel for dents and possibly being "out-of-round". There are reputable tire dealers that can straighten and "true-up" slightly damaged wheels.
