Aero oem Michelins and snow (again)

I know these are bad in snow and ice. I would like someone who has been foolish enough to try driving in winter with these tires to tell me exactly how bad.
Ball bearing, dangerous bad? Slide into the first ditch bad? Or just harder to control and stop?
I have a Cherokee and my wife's A4 quattro for bad weather, and plan on parking the '01 Aero Wagon on snowy days. I just would like some idea what I might face if I had to take the car out on a slick morning. If the oem tires are truly atrocious I guess I will get a set of Eagle UltraGrip GW2s for it.....
Thanks.
