I have had my new 2002 9-5 AERO estate ( as we call them here in the UK )for three weeks now, so I thought I would post an update of my experience so far. This is my first Saab ( apologies to all you enthusiasts ), having previously owned an Audi A6 2.4 SE for three years - and all I can say is I wish I had Swapped sooner. The Aero is just awesome, much better than I expected - having not seen or driven the 2002 spec ( I test drove a 2001 auto Aero, and saw lots of pictures from the net on the new model )I was a little aprehensive about taking delivery. But in the flesh it is fantastic - the new metallic dash is great, it is much "duller" than all the pictures show, with a slightly grained finish to it. It blends perfectly with the charcoal / black leather interior, and also sits very well with the silver metallic paint. Having not actually seen the dash before, it was one of my greatest worries that i would noy like it - but no problems there. The sports seats have to be the most comfortable i have ever sat in, providing lots of support when I am "giving it some" on some local twisty roads. Whilst on the subject, the acceleration on my manual version just makes the smile all the time - having just covered 1500 miles of "carefull" driving, i can now put my foot down and experience the full delights of that 250 HP. New 17" alloys look the business, but are a pig to clean thanks to the detailed 10 spoke design.
Some minor niggles so far - dissapointed with the premium stereo package, very "tinny" to start of with, but having seen the posts on how to set it up, its alot better now - although you have to have it quite loud to get good bass tones. A squeeky drivers seat ( the springs i think ), and a rattle from the dash - but a trip to the dealer should resolve these.

Having great fun so far, any other UK 2002 spec owners out there ?
