2002 9-5 Cloth Seating Question: Cloth vs. Leather

Whilst the "select cloth" seating was very, very rare here in the States from model years 99-01, I am wondering if any of this board's wonderful authorities know whether the 02 9-5 (Linear probably) is still available with a form of cloth seats?
Five years down the line, the cloth interior on a well-kept Saab looks brand new indeed. The leather--regardless of how it is taken care of--shows significant signs of deterioration. Saab said they are putting even "softer" leather on the 2002. What happened to the "hides" from the early to mid 1980's, strong and durable and available on Bimmers as well as Saabs. Is a tougher grade of leather too expensive to use, or does it not go over well with soft-assed American car buyers who want their leather cozy, wrinkly and as buttery as popcorn.
I have gotten somewhat carried away, I know. But I think my points are valid. Cloth or leather? That is the question. Leather smells wonderful. Cloth holds up. I have emailed Saabusa over a month ago and nobody has responded. Alas, this board is my only hope. Again, will 2002 offer cloth (durable cloth, like the old "select cloth" and not like the paper-weight cloth they put in Volvos. (Audi, BMW and Mercedes offer vinyl--very durable). And, does anybody have a cloth 9-5--or for that mmatter--has anybody ever come across one?
Thanks much folks.
