I wonder if they really cleaned out everything the first time.
It's impossible to say if not present when they did the job.
If your engine was sludged up it is necessary to drop the oil pan and remove the valve cover and go to wown with brushes and tough solvent like carb cleaner.
It's a dirty, nasty job that takes hours and lots of elbow grease so it wouldn't be too much of a surprise if a less than quality minded shop (or technician) just do a quick job of dropping the oil pan and clean out the oil pick up screen and leave it with that.
If so, it is still lots of particles at the top of the engine and timing cover that will eventually drop down to the bottom, clogging up the oil pick up again.
