Well, I agree with your points, however, the only gauge that I'm concerned about is the temperature gauge, and it's supposedly an idiot light. They've made it stay in the middle until there's a problem. So, unless you get it reworked by a technician, it's an idiot light.
But I'm also comparing my dash with other dashes. My boss has an A6, and the dash on his car is red and very bright. Plus, it has about 5 or 6 LED areas. I can't take driving at night in that car. The only time I use the night panel is during long trips over dark roads. I never use it in town.
Regardless, I still think the feature is great.
