Just got our 2002 Aero Wagon back from Swedish Imports. Repairs were completed earlier than expected (new short block, cleaned and repaired head, etc.) Cost was $6700 and change (as per the quote), much better than the $8300 quoted by Flow Saab in Greensboro for the same repair. Jim at SI reported a LOT of sludge in the engine, requiring multiple flushes. He used and recommends semi-synth 5W30 changed at 5K intervals, just like we're doing with our 9-3SE. Very professionally handled, IMHO.

My wife drove the car home from SI (her first time driving that car), and despite the additional expense, she had a smile on her face when she got home. Loved the seats, power, & handling. The wagon looks great parked next to our 9-3SE (yep, 2 steel grey metallic w/charcoal interior 2002 Saabs). It's so nice to have 2 cars again.

Still awaiting the remaining few records from the original owner before submitting my claim to SAAB USA. Expect a report on that in a month or two.
