When I got my 2000 9-5 Aero with the standard
seats, I noticed that the lateral support was a problem
and that because of that I would often sit in not normal
positions on those seats.
Then on top of that in turns I was just sliding all over
those seats... what next...
In your case you can do 2 things.
a) Fit in the new 2002 Aero seats which have proper lateral support
or
b) Upgrade the std seats to Viggen style seats using the upgrade
kit from Hirsch Performance (I did that, no looking back)
I sat in both types... they feel the same way.
If you own your car and you don't lease it... I would get a quote
for both solutions and do one or the other, depending on price.
The leather Seats upgrade from Hirsch costs around $2250 excluding
installation. Front and Rear seats. You should ask for a front only
quote.
I added a link to my car and here is the one to Hirsch.
