Your Saab dealer needs education.
The strap is for holding the rear armrest in place if you have a childseat mounted in the center and have an accident. This will prevent it from folding forward.
The Wagon has a G-lock that will prevent it from folding forward in a crash. You don't need that strap.
It is possible to install a US/Canada tether childseat in the rearseat. Under the carpet there are nuts in the lower part of the backplate for this.
Hook partnumber 52 00 910
Screw partnumber 52 03 609
You need three of each....
