More light output (lumens) for the same wattage generally means a smaller lamp filament which means a shorter lamp life. How much shorter will depend on a lot of things. Number of start-ups, time the headlights are on, even the outside temperature, and the condition of yourcharging system (battery, alternator, and voltage rugulator).
I use the Philips Premium H4 lamps in my 1998 900SET. I run with my headlights on all the time, drive about 15,000 miles a year, and I have to repalce the lamps about once a year to 1-1/2 years.
