I have Viggen, currently with Glislaved Nordfrost II tires on them (16 inch rims). The car came with Pirelli P6000 tires, which have an incredibly low wear rating. These tires are not "all season tires." They are high performance tires. The grip incredibly well and work very well in the rain.
Personally, I'd rather have high performance tires in the summer and winter tires in the winter. You simply cannot make rubber to perform the same in summer and winter. New winter tires are designed to remain supple even when it's very cold out. That suppleness also means that they are going to be a big eraser when it gets warm. I would rather have quicker stops and better traction from high performance tires in the summer and from winter tires in the winter. Until someone makes a tire that does both, I'll have two sets of tires. There are some tires that supposedly come close (Nokian HRW, I think), but I'm not convinced.
