Well this really depends on your current needs. I too am a student and if I was not a DIY kinda person a Saab would probably be not too wise of a choice. Think carefully about your options. If you just need a car to drive around in while at school, then perhaps you would want one with a good warranty? Both cars you mention have warranties but the Hyundai has a 10 year powertrain warranty which is great. A lot of times those independent car insurance companies go out of business within a few years, so that warrantee on the Saab may not even be there 3 years from now. But the flip side is that if the Saab was taken care of, it can be a very reliable and comfortable cruiser. Also, think about what you'll be doing in a few years. Once you're done with dental school and start your practice, you'll most likely be able to afford a brand new Saab. For now a new car might be worth less headache if you don't like bringing cars in for repairs. Be warned though, Hyundai's have worse resale values than Saabs. (haha) They're good cars with solid powertrains, (the new sonata v6 is a brand new "delta" engine design which has proven to be pretty reliable so far) but when it comes time to sell it, nobody really wants a used Hyundai because the warrantee is cut in half when the car is sold used. Take these points into serious consideration, because you want to be happy with the car you drive! Its gonna be with you for at least a couple of years!
