Speeding in the wagon....

On a remote stretch of Interstate a couple of days ago, I decided to put the '01 9-5 LPT auto wagon in Sport mode and punched it. Had about 3 straight miles of empty, elevated expressway to play with. Woohoo! 136mph! The tach read about 4500rpms. I figured I had enough and left it at that-besides, ran out of straightaway. 4th gear is tall, and reads about 30mph/1000rpms. Took what seemed like forever for that 125mph-135mph stretch. No cops (lucky me), and I still have my license. :-)
That's pretty obnoxious for a station wagon. I love it! (I s'ppose I'd love it more if I had an Aero!) At the time, my mostly highway MPG average on the SID was 26.3 (with pretty sedate driving)-it dropped to 24.4 at the end of the romp.
It was well worth the drop. :-)
I'm sure others here have probably squeezed more speed out of their 9-5s than I-but my (well, wife's) 9-5 is fairly new and I didn't want to overdue it.
FWIW, the 9-5 felt more composed at that speed than my '94 900SET-I guess that should be expected.
Just felt like sharing.
