Even though the manual doesn't explicitly state that the "Afterheater" function will shut itself off if the battery gets low, I bet it will. Why? Because it already does that for things like the interior lights and radio. They all go through the ICE (Integrated Central Electronics computer) which regulates power to the accessories...
As I recall, the interior lights will shut off after about 20 minutes, and the stereo is good for about an hour. This is certainly NOT the case for many cars sold today. I've seen Camry's and other supposedly "good" cars with dead batteries in the morning after the owner left an interior light on.
