Most likely oil left in the system. When I replaced my turbo there was quite a bit of it pooled up in the intake pipe. I poured it out and it was fine.
Otherwise, I think it would have to burn off & may take a little while.
There is of course a chance your new turbo was bad or failed soon after you ran the car. Are you getting boost?
