I have to agree with you. I have had nothing but saabs since the 90's and the dealers come and go without warning. Performance saab was absolutely horrible for anything but warranty service, but I am sure the slow pace of new models coming in hurt them so they couldn't remain profitable. There are several nice Indie's around but the problem with Performance closing is going to be parts and there is no way that any repair will be done in less than 48 hours now as parts will have to be shipped in. I don't know if the north and southtown dealers have enough parts in stock as they don't seem the least bit interested in saab (the north one did a decent job on a DIC failure, but refused to consider it ruined the catalytic converter, which of course failed two days later and I had to go to Performance for another 2 day wait), and the south one refused to believe that the car dying when hot but starting when cold was the CPS, so it died again with my daughter driving it after they "repaired" it. So it doesn't appear they understand rudimentary saab characteristics. My favorites: Texas Automotive Performance on the west side of town (terrible drive down I-10; they do have more volvo's on hand, but have done a great job with my saabs) and Shepard Auto and Tire (7135265778) on Shepard and Westheimer. Ask for Mike. His problem will be parts, but he really gives it a good try. Advanced Auto Tech just south of the loop has done a good job with rebuilt parts in the past and seems very honest.
