I have had ok experiences with Nxcess. They are about 15 minutes from me. I just bought a 9-5 sport combi from them a few months ago. Before that I had a 2003 9-5 wagon that they did some warranty work on. The only repairs I have had done at the dealerships are warranty repairs. They have always given me a loaner car while mine was in the shop.

I have had the worst dealership experiences of my life at Performance Saab. They actually wrecked my 2003 wagon when they had it for service and tried to hide it from me.

As far as having to order “very common” parts, I think it’s a chicken and the egg type of situation. As you stated there are not many Saabs in Houston. It just does not make financial sense for a dealership to stock a bunch of parts for a car that is very uncommon. It is frustrating though. I had to order touch-paint for my new car. The Toyota dealer next door probably has touch-up paint in stock for every Toyota made in the last 25 years.

I do wish that there were more options in town for service and parts, but I knew my options would be limited when I moved here. I like that there are not many other Saabs in town. I catch people staring at my Aero sport combi all the time. I often have strangers approach me in parking lots and ask me about my Saab. About a month ago a guy I work with was telling me about a car he and his wife saw in the grocery store parking lot. He said it was a really cool sporty looking black station wagon. They really liked it but it drove off before they could see what kind of car it was. It was my car. Nothing like that has ever happened with my other vehicle (a Ford Truck).
