I installed the Saab Bluetooth kit (made by Motorola) in my 2007 9-5; it is the same for a 2006.
MY SUGGESTION:
1. Have the dealer install it. Having someone with Saab 9-5 Bluetooth experience is essential. Dealers either contract to have someone come in and do the Bluetooth installations or they assign it to a specialist on their staff. You don't want someone learning on your Saab. With experience it's 2-3 hours of work; so the labor could be in the $200-$300 range. The kit is in the $300 range as I recall. A 2006-2008 9-5 without OnStar requires an extra cable ($13.00) that an inexperienced installer will not realize; it is not documented in the installation instructions.
2. Saab's Bluetooth kit and the navigation option can coexist. Saab's XM and Bluetooth cannot.
IMHO the integrated Saab Bluetooth kit is worth every penny; I love it.
