Like oil and water, fire and ice, and yes ...even gore and bush, it is said that these two systems cannot function together. Alas, Saab is purported to have a fix allowing portable cell phone use as well as OnStar. It remains unclear whether this "fix" is similar to the "TRIAD" system discussed on this message board, yet the heralded but unverified "triad" is presently UNAVAILABLE to Saab owners as well. My dealership told me that I could have an integrated cell phone today but that this would require junking OnStar ( an option I find to be quite palatable as I have no intention of renewing my OnStar contract after the 1 year freebee subscription). I'm sure OnStar made its system difficult to integrate with personal cell phones in an attempt to ram their expensive and inferior analog cell phone service down our collective throats. Alas, consumers will not tolerate this situation for long, and either private entrepreneurs or SAAB will provide a way around this scheme. So at this point it seems more like yin and yang, sonny and cher, etc rather than oil and water.
