FWIW my dealer advises first taking out the radio using the two wire tools supplied for the purpose. (Look in your tool kit or the Saab case that holds your owner's manual and service records.) Once the radio is out, reach up behind the SID and push it out until you can unplug it. The problem with just prying the SID out from the dash is that you can crack the burled wood panel, though DIYselfers often take this direct approach successfully. IMHO taking out the radio first is so easy that you have nothing to lose by going this route, and it does give you some room to get at the SID. Be firm but steady and all well be well.
