Do you have a Check Engine Light also?.... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 30 Jul 2008 13:33:11 In Reply to: ABS Module... Still...., hwood, Wed, 30 Jul 2008 10:45:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
When mine started to fail I got the three brake lights, plus the triangle with exclamation point, as well as loss of speedo. It would fail intermittently and then begin to work again. It would regularly fail on the warm/hot afternoon drives and seldom fail on the cool early morning drives.
After a few weeks of this, and the problem getting worse, I made a Service Appt. The system returned to operation before I got to the Dealer , there was no CEL present (I hadn't yet got this light), so the Tech thought it was a wheel speed sensor. They sent me on my way at no charge and told me to come back when it stopped working altogether so they could find the fault.
Shortly thereafter I got a CEL and read it with my code reader to be P1925 - No Communication with ABS Module. I took a chance it was a module failure and sent it to bba-reman. My guess was right and everything is now operating correctly.
From my very limited experience (and the comments of Anders and my local Tech), if you have no CEL it is probably not the module.
