Which engine do you have in your car? The V6 REQUIRES a timing belt change AND tensioner change at a fixed mileage (check some of the other posts for recommendations). If it hasn't been done recently, I'd highly recommend having it done. It is usually a bad tensioner that takes out the belt which in turn takes out the valves causing all manner of mayhem under the hood. False economy to just change the belt unless you are certain the tensioner was recently changed.
The 4 cylinders have occasional issues with sludge build up so have an indy mechanic check for that. Use full synthetic oil - more expensive but cheaper than an engine!
AC problems are not unknown but fairly simple to fix if it is the blend door. Occasionally it is a bad evaporator in the dash but it is a DIY deal if you have some (OK: a lot of) patience.
4 Cylinder cars should get the latest PCV change. It does seem to solve the puff of blue smoke issue on start up if it sits for a couple of days problem.
Serpentine belt will need to be addressed in the not too distant future. Do yourself a favor and change the tensioner for that belt at the same time. Different belt from the V6 timing belt but a bad tensioner will take out a new belt in short order. Just isn't worth the hassle. I had 3 belts on and off the 1999 9-5 I had until the tensioner was finally changed too. Didn't appear to be bad but it was causing problems with the belt. I changed the belt and tensioner on my 2000 Aero to have the piece of mind.
A good car once the irritants are addressed. I've gone a year sans major issue with my 2000 Aero. Except for a transmission range switch that has to get changed tomorrow...
