Interesting... I can't really think of anything that would cause this all to happen, unless there are a few things going on coincidentally at the same time. Coolant bypass valve would cause a loss of coolant, but not oil. The oil cooler failing (common on the V6) would cause coolant and oil to mix together, but you wouldn't really lose anything. Head gaskets almost NEVER go bad on the V6, unless she overheated it with no coolant in there. The block could have cracked too then. It seems to be driving okay now though? I'd definitely get her to see her mechanic ASAP. Keep an eye on the fluids. Maybe she just hasn't changed the oil in a real long time and it's just consumed it all. I bet with 145k miles on it the turbo has got to be leaking some oil if it's still original. Good luck and please do keep us posted if she figures out what's up with it. You have peaked my curiosity.
