This pro lowered the subframe 2 inches and still no dice. That's what it seems on mine as well. Lowering it down will not help, it needs to go the the side 2 inches, more than can be accomplished with a crow bar. Granted I could keep taking the motor apart, but I'm done with that. We've been at it for a day. The main point here is this is rediculous for an ALTERNATOR when Saab could have easily designed it different. There is a famous old sailor in the Caribbean, Donald Street, who after working endless hours on his diesel simply through it overboard and proceeded to sail around and enjoy his time. Sure someone somewhere could have made an easy job of it, but if it can not be accomplished without too much trouble by a person of moderately high skill it's needs to go away. Really I just wanted to bring a little attention to the problem so unsuspecting folks will be aware of the problems these otherwise nice to drive cars can bring.
