I've put a lot of research into switching to synthetic ATF on my '99 with the 4sp. The manual calls for Dexron III, but the ONLY Mobil1 I can find says Mercon on the front, and on the back says it is recommended for(among other vehicles) 2005 and earlier GM transmissions. Does this sound like the type some of you are running in your 4 speeds?
Also, ANY recommendations for or against switching? It's not too late to turn back and continue using the conventional stuff. If people out there are getting leaks, I will not make the switch, it's just not worth it.
Thanks!
