You got an awesome deal on all those parts! I'll have to remember Pams.
I would definitely try to use the larger intake pipe. Its good for 10 horse power.
I had that hard line with banjo bolt on top like you did.
I got rid of it and temporarily put a 3/8” id fuel line into the fitting with red collar.
That fuel line is then connected the pcv hose near the oil fill / dip stick. I am going to do something better but havent yet.
I can take a picture tonight.
One tip, the turbo, I tightened all the hard lines to it on the bench. Then put it in the car.
I wanted to make sure they were tight and it was easier to do that way than to fight the cramped access when in the car.
I left off the aluminum intake pipe. It was a pain trying to get that v-band clamp on after the turbo was bolted to the exhaust manifold. So you may also try installing the intake pipe to the turbo on the bench. You don’t have to tighten it all the way, but at least get the band clamp screw threaded.
The engine ECU, if you get a used one, you’ll have to take it someplace with a Tech2 so they can reset the immobilization code. Cant just put it in and start the car.
But if you sent your original to someplace like JZW that wont be necessary.
But that’s about $300 so it might be cheaper to get a used Aero ECU.
Yeah, I finally completed the rebuild. Its nice, I did allot of extra stuff to like ceramic coating, ecu upgrade, exhaust upgrade, oil pressure gauge, etc. And thanks to the wife for being patient while we shared one car for a few months.
Yeah, that dishwasher trick is great. I did about 5 loads of car parts :) Its amazing how clean they come out. And dont have to use as much chemicals like brake cleaner...
