It basically doesn't idle and the engine will die when at a stop (auto transmission). Limp home only happened once to me in our 2004 Aero wagon while driving about 40MPH. It felt like a pop under the hood and the check engine light illuminated. It was at night so i noticed the CEL right away. When i stopped to turn right the engine died.
