ACC Code 18 and 19??? Posted by Greg Bender [Email] (#1027) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Greg Bender) on Fri, 24 Jul 2009 18:03:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi all,
2000 Saab 9-5 SE
Doing the Auto + Off test, I've discovered (and re-verified) that I'm showing codes 18 and 19. Code 18 is for the heater valve solenoid while code 19 is for the heater circulation pump.
A little history...I recently (within the past few days) replaced the coolant bypass valve. Codes 18 and 19 were not showing before I replaced the coolant bypass valve. As a stop-gap measure while I was waiting for the new valve to arrive, I blocked the upper hose (IN to the heater core) and connected the lower hose (OUT of the heater core) to the inlet hose. Basically I followed this diagram for when you don't need heat.

I've checked all the fuses and connections. I'm hard pressed to think both components went out at the same time, but I suppose it is possible.
Add into the mix that now my radiator fans run on low speed for a very long time after I shut off the engine (hours) Prior to this they did not run long at all (ambient temperatures have remained consistent).
I'm stumped...any ideas????
Regards,
Greg Bender
