First, I want to thank the BB users for the great info I've gathered about the 9-5s which has convinced me the 9-5 is the car for me.
I am working with a dealer to find a used 9-5 '99 SE or 00 with low miles and manual trans. However, in browsing many dealer pages across the northeast for prices, availablity - the '00 seem hard to come by (not off lease yet). If I purchase a '99 I am looking for a late model year - to avoid some of the problems I have read about with the early year (first year production) models. Can anyone provide feedback about the differences - performance, interior etc. if any - in a late production model '99 compared to '00 production? (ie - is it worth the wait to find a '00)
Also, test drove a manual 2002 the other day (boy was that nice! have always had VWs) - and haven't driven a '99 yet, should I expect a great deal of difference between the two - enough to consider scraping up the $ for a used 2001?
