Okay, the offender is a 2004 9-5 Aero automatic sedan with 43k miles on it. The engine vibrates like nothing I have seen before idling, in gear. I was poking around this morning looking at all my engine mounts, which appear to be "okay" for 43k miles. I do have a Genuine Saab poly mount in the torque arm which I think I'm going to take out for a little while and see how it affects this vibration. I don't think the best motor mounts in the world would dampen this beast though.

I have gone through multiple sets of screws that hold the lower splash guard onto the front bumper, because they all VIBRATE OUT!! My center grille also rattles from the vibration. Today I noticed that the plastic engine cover (seated securely) was vibrating with an amplitude of about .25"!! I took a video but my camera's frame rate doesn't pick up on the vibration so well. You just see the thing moving up and down slowly (think airplane prop or car wheel moving backwards on film). It still gives an idea of how much it's moving though. My rear view mirrors blur when I step on the gas to accelerate! It sucks.

I'm just curious if this is the norm for the 2.3t. If it is I cannot wait for my next Saab to be a 9-3 Aero with the 2.8t. If it's not, what the heck is up!!? Could I have a vacuum leak or something? I might just bring it to my mechanic soon and ask for his opinion. Thanks for looking.
