Kyle, no special tools, other than drill and bits, small to larger. If your pipes are rusted together, you have to be careful not to damage flanges . If your flex pipe is gone, then you dont care about that part. It is much easier to have the exhaust pieces off the car , and work on them in a normal position vs. lying or standing underneath the car. At least that is my choice. To drill out rusted in studs, you merely center punch the middle, start with a small bit, and drill away, gradually increasing size until you have hole big enough for new stainless hardware. You should only have to do this once, since that stainless hardware will be removable down the road, unlike the factory bits. I never use the press fit studs that come with new flex pipe, always remove them, and use normal bolt and nut setup- stainless of course-. Some people have been able to remove the original hardware w/o drilling, but that has not been my experience in the Northeast. Good luck- Tom S.
