I have a similar problem. My CEL doesn't come on, but by looking through my live SID data on my 2002 9-5 Linear, I found that I was getting a code, 4466, which is p1172.
I experienced the same rough idle, when on startup the engine speed goes down to 400/500 then shoots up to 1500-1800.
What is different about my situation is that I don't just have rough idle.
I had 85 misfires on a two hour drive yesterday, and regularly get 5-15 misfires on startup. When I drive at WOT, or when the turbo is midway in the yellow, the engine hops and hiccups from 1k to 3k rpm, as if it is cutting power. And there IS a severe loss of power at those engine speeds. Then it stops and unleashes power, no issues past 3500 rpm.
What is the "common" fix for this problem? I had the throttle body cleaned, then eventually replaced. Only 5k miles ago. Could it still be the culprit? I've checked the vacuum lines, but that was 10k miles ago.
The car has 106k on it, so I guess that could be part of it. If I remember correctly I also had the fuel pump and knock sensors checked.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Multiple stealerships have cost me hundreds of dollars replacing various parts on the car... I just want it fixed!!!
