2000 9-5, base suspension
I had an alignment done Spring '09. Since then after reviewing the print-out and researching the boards I replaced the upper & lower outer cross-stay bushings and trailing arm bushings. I also chose to do the following: new control-arm rear bushings, new balljoints, new tie rod ends, new swaybar endlinks (yeah I know it doesn't affect the alignment but I'm putting it all on the table), and I replaced the stock 16" wheels with some Aero 17" rims w/the correspondingly correct tire size.
Just had an alignment done today and the rear camber was worse than last years readout. After doing some more reading here I see the Aeros especially are notorious for sagging rear springs which will affect the camber reading, but I assume all 9-5's have this issue to some extent. I am hoping someone can help me with the following:
What is the procedure for measuring the ride height? I read something last night about bottom edge of wheel arch center to the rim's lower edge. Is this from the metal part of the wheel arch or the plastic edge guard? Measure to the top edge of the rim bead or to where the rubber meets the metal? What are the numbers I should be seeing for 17" rims with base suspension? Is the front/rear the same?
What affects the front caster?
Thanks for any input
