Hey, thanks for the advice. The trouble I am having is how variable the symptoms are. It ALWAYS starts eventually but I have to hold the key on "start" for different lengths of time, and sometimes it makes me give gas to hold idle and sometimes not. Sometimes the cranking process is so sluggish and takes almost 15 seconds (usually in the AM after sitting overnight), but other times like this morning it started pretty well. I have a multimeter and get ~10.5v this morning and 13.6v running. Also the car is garaged and temp hasn't been real low yet in NY.
I feel like if it were a battery or cable issue there would be times when it wouldn't start at all, which is not the case.
How do I check the battery cable? just visual inspection? At the battery, the outer rubber is beginning to split on the +. Also at the maxi box it seems there is a little grease/oil on the wire, but I really want to avoid unnecessary $$/repairs.
Could you give me some more info on checking connections/fuses/etc at the maxi box? Is there a way I can check voltage/amp at the maxi box using multimeter?
Thanks again.
