Uh-oh. I think I bought the same chains, so I better try them out in the garage before I need them. My snow tires are 195-15's, so maybe that will help. I'm actually hoping I'll never have to chain up. The only time I had to use chains on my old ('72) 99 in Alaska was for going up a steep hill in a foot or so of new snow. That car had so much clearance in the front wheel well it was no problem---I could get my whole body in there to hook the inner side of the chains; no squid arms necessary, nor a rain suit because the snow there was so dry. And I don't believe I ever used chains on my Saabs the 8 years I lived in north Idaho. But here (Western Washington), they sometimes require chains to go over the pass no matter what you're driving, unless it's 4WD. So I better practice. Thanks for the heads-up.
