That means that the wires in the bundle that open/close the trunk did not
break. The wire bundle breaks right where it bends on the plastic connector on left corner of the trunk lid. Search the site for pics and
some repair ideas. I soldered and taped mine and it lasted a year or two.
It broke again; this type I cracked the plastic connector taking it off the
lid so I brought a whole new wiring set (it comes with all the plastic connectors). I added some cloth tape to the new wire bundle..it did not seem redesigned in any way to prevent it from happening again. I was surprised after 13 years in production it was not improved.
