Wheel bearings replaced, still a whirring sound

Bottom line:
Still have a whirring sound (less than before)after replacing both wheel bearings, most noticeable at highway speeds, changes pitch when swirving. Sounds just like it did before but fainter, and more so from the driver side now. For some reason I think the machinist pressed the bearing in wrong, I gave him the WIS printout on how to do it, but who knows. What should I do? Could the whirring be coming from something else? I know the passenger bearing was bad because I could feel play in it after I took the knuckles and hubs off (before the bearing replacement)
Axles maybe? (141k on them... Was thinking about re lubing, if makes difference, then replace)
Intermediate shaft bearing? (I have no idea)
Brakes? ( I don't think it is, cause I can still hear it under breaking)
Tires? ( possibility, I might try rotating front to back and see if there is a difference)
Bearings? How do I ask this guy about the bearings without offending him, I mean there really is no way to know is there?
Thanks
MM
