It is very possible that your outer upper lateral bushing is worn.
And you are right a press is a good idea. in the UK there is a tool available so you can do it in place. I did mine in place with a Harbor Freight tool with a modified fitting.
Changing the forward trailing arm bushing to poly was a HUGE help as well.
