Stock radio must stay, SID sez so Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Thu, 23 May 2002 18:06:07 In Reply to: Alpine Navagation, Paul [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 23 May 2002 17:52:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The CD/cassette/radio displays through the SID (Saab Information Display) and to my knowledge, must be left in place as too many variables are in place with regards to the Onstar cell phone and radio/CD/tape display integration with SID. Saab does a wonderful job of designing the radio into the dash. Outsourcing this stuff sounds like a major potential "kluge", but there are some pretty tricky installers out there assuming money is no object.
Many nav systems have clever mounting arrangements that would not include replacing the stock radio.
