You are correct on oil level on the 9k. I know the early 2.0L had the level floats and think they continued up though the 1993 model year (know my 2.3L 91 9kT had level float) This is one thing I cannot understand why Saab got rid of on the later models (OG9-3, 9-5 etc). Some of the 2.0L NG9-3 sport sedan models have the level float in the pan but not the wiring lead in the engine harness for the SID alert. Quite odd.

I never have understood the thought of that premium is getting more expensive so lets switch to mid or regular. Here in Florida, the price difference is STILL 20 cents a gallon from 87-93 (currently $3.82;$3.92;$4.02). When looking at the percentage of price increase as fuel prices rise, the cost difference between 87 to 93 is actually less. Which is more what needs to be considered when comparing the price of two similar products in this case.
