My first thing to always say here is to check the head bolt torque. If the head bolts have not been replaced, I would replace them and bring to torque, center out one at a time. I end up at about 80-90 ftlbs. Exact procedure is on the board. This would account for some oil leaking on the outside, but depends on how much. Usually cooling system over pressure.
Also check the oil pressure sending switch just in front of the starter on the back of the block.
