I just went through this. Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Thu, 19 Apr 2012 10:22:37 In Reply to: 9-5 Aero Summer Tires?, westernny, Thu, 19 Apr 2012 08:07:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
There are not a whole lot of tires that come in 225/45R17 that met my interests as summer tires + had a 94 load rating... I think many are just going with the 91 load rating + not worrying about it. If you have wider rims (7.5" vs 7") 235 width tires may be preferable + they are readily available in the 94 load rating.
Anyway, for 225, my first choice was going to be Nokian V (or Z G2). Unobtanium. DW, Pilot AS Sport +, and some others are 91. The only Michelin in that size with 94 load rating was the Pilot Super Sport. Waaaay more tire than I need, but it was cheaper than the Pilot AS Sport + and the Nokians at $210/wheel... reviews are very good for it. Wear might be an issue since it is the kind of tire that goes on Porsches etc (it is the upgrade to the PS2)... but that's not a big worry for me... anyway, it might be worth a look given some of the other options on your list!
I wish I could find Nokian Summer tires here as they are very well suited to Saabs, but for whatever reason, they are not easy to find. You are in the USA, so maybe check Viator.
link to vianor tire store - owned by nokian, should carry them!
