I haven't tried the Primacy HP's, but I am currently running Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 225/45/R17. Fantastic handling and performance on the 9-5. PSS is the replacement for PS2. They claim superior wear to the PS2, but I'd say they will probably last me 2 summers, or maybe 15000 miles. I spoke recently with a guy with a 9-3 aero who has the A/S Pilot Sports and was finding the wear was very significant. Does the primacy HP come in the appropriate load rating in the size you're looking at? PSS was about the only Michelin in 225/45R17 that did... from what others say here though, the load rating might not matter too much except that some shops won't install them if they notice the discrepancy...
I don't care too much about wear and really like the PSS, but I might try a different tire next time around. Basically PSS is way overkill for the 9-5 (PSS is a great Porche tire) and something like a Nokian V would be more suited imho... I've always had good results with Nokian tires so that's why I want to give them a try. Unfortunately they are hard to get. Otherwise, yeah the PSS is really nice!
