My Xenon light failure on my dashboard was constantly coming on at start up with both sets of counterfeit bulbs. Eventually I had a bulb fail on a road trip on the highway.

I had documented dealer genuine bulb replacement in my 04 Aero in 2008 and changed them when I acquired the car last year just to do it as I was unsure how long these bulbs lasted.

I put the dealer installed bulbs back in a few weeks ago and have had not have the xenon dash light come on. These bulbs are also significantly brighter then the 2 sets of counterfeit bulbs.

My thoughts are the xenon computer can sense the bulbs are not genuine and will set off the Xenon level light on the dash.

After some more research I have read that Xenon bulbs will last around 2000 hours. Something I did not know before. I have DRL disabled and the dealer installed bulbs are still nice and bright. I hope to get a few more years out of them.
