Piston slap #4. Replacing with a 1999 engine with 167K on it. Junk yard, car just arrived, starts/runs nice, turbo is shot. What I want to know is - What do I do to prevent sludge-death for this replacement engine. I will install full PCV-6 kit, remove pan, clean oil pickup screen fully (and whatever else is in pan). Will also remove valve cover and clean the 2 little hoses in there. What else can I do???? I will service engine with filter and dino oil, run for 10-15 minutes, then repeat that again. Then it will get Synthetic Oil, a Mann Oil Filter, and 4,000 mile oil changes.
