Did you order the " professional grade" Raybestos unit? From the photos on the RA it looks like there is a rubber bushing in there. The second photo on the one sold with the strut bearing shows this pretty well. I would think one fabbed of a solid metal housing would transmit too much shock and vibration, leading to cracks or broken bolts.
Guess you have not received them yet. Also they don't stipulate this one is for the Aero ( I looked at the 2003 model, not knowing what your son has), don't know if Aero and non Aero part numbers are the same.
They do look a lot like the KYBs though. Price is good though. I have not had much luck with KYB on my NG900's and OG 9-3, only got about a year or so on them and had to replace again. Went back with Sachs once and OEM on the others. Never replaced yet on my 9-5.
Using Koni Sports? I recall you used them on another 9-5. Guess you like them. Where will you be setting the damping?
Let us know what you think when you get them, bet there is a chunk of rubber in there.
