This doesn't surprise me. It probably requires freeing the alternator from its moorings, swinging it around, removing the rear cover & wiring, then the regulator, and putting it back in. All these shenanigans are most likely needed because of a pair of hoses directly behind the alternator.
The only portion of the job that's saved is disconnecting the exhaust, filing down the flashing on the intake, and rocking the engine around to extricate and re-insert the alternator.
