are you using M1 0w40? I used that forever as well, but FWIW, as my cars started to age I switched to M1 10w40 (about 2 years ago).
Definitely an odd coincidence. and the fact that its happening on the I4 and v6, at the same time, for the first time, is super weird.
I'd do two things:
- very that you have legit low oil pressure with a mechanical gauge.
- switch to a thicker oil, at least while you sort it out.
I'm afraid that, weird coincidence aside, oil light at low RPMs means you need to start preparing for the worst. Thicker oil will boost the pressure a bit and help. but if the signs are real (verify with mechanical gauge) another car (or engine) is in your future.
